Friday Funday: Shopping, Scouting & Secluded Lake Views

Some Fridays are for hustle… and some Fridays are for slowing down and breathing it all in. This one? It was a little bit of both.

We started the day with some shopping—nothing wild, just those everyday errands that somehow always turn into “let’s just swing by this one more place.” But even a day of errand-running can be fun when you’ve got good company, a loose agenda, and maybe a few surprise finds.

The real highlight, though, was heading out to scout camp spots at one of our favorite local campgrounds. We like to go check things out before booking, and we’re so glad we did—because we found the spot. It’s tucked away at the top of a cliff with a stunning view overlooking the lake. Quiet, peaceful, and just enough off the beaten path to feel like a little escape from reality. Naturally, we booked it on the spot.

We took some pictures while we were there—of the view, the lake, and even from the dock down below looking up at our site. It’s got the kind of calm that you can’t buy, and we already can’t wait to wake up to those lake breezes with a hot cup of coffee in hand.

But before we get to kick back in that dreamy camp spot, we’ve got a weekend of work ahead—because that’s life with Cave Hill Wood Co. 😉

This weekend, we’ll be elbows-deep in yard work and getting our garage/workshop organized. I’ll be tucked away in my bitch barn (my happy place!) cranking out incense, wood burning some keychains and car diffusers, and brainstorming ideas for new projects. The creativity’s flowing, and I’ve got a list of things I’m itching to try out. Meanwhile, John will be in the workshop cleaning up, helping with inventory prep, and maybe even cutting me some fresh sign boards.

It’s a mix of work and play around here—and while we love our peaceful moments by the lake, there’s something equally satisfying about a weekend spent building, burning, organizing, and dreaming up what’s next.

We’ll be sharing more behind-the-scenes of our projects, camping adventures, and all the chaos in between soon. Stay tuned—and hey, go find your own little Friday Funday moment if you can. You’ve earned it. 💙
