A Sweet Break with My Boogs

Today is one of those days where everything else takes a backseat so I can soak up some special time with my grandson, Boogs. 💛 His mommy and daddy are busy, so Mimi and Papaw get the joy of having him all to ourselves for a few hours.

It’s funny how life has a way of feeling so full—between Cave Hill projects, volunteering, and everything else on the calendar, the days blur together sometimes. But then, a day like this comes along and it’s a beautiful reminder of what really matters: slowing down, enjoying the little giggles, and being present.

Papaw and I always say these are the moments we’ll treasure most. The toys scattered across the living room, the sound of little feet running, the way his eyes light up when we do something silly—those are priceless memories in the making.

Of course, we wish Vaeh could join us too, but she’s busy at school today. She’ll get her Mimi-and-Papaw time soon enough, and you can bet we’ll be ready for it. Having the grandbabies around truly keeps our hearts young (and our coffee pots working overtime).

So today, Cave Hill takes a tiny pause while I play cars on the floor, read storybooks, and maybe sneak in a few extra hugs. And honestly? I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Here’s to the little breaks that remind us how sweet life really is. 💛
